Abuse Proof Your Kid 5/25/16

On May 18th and May 25th, 2016 Gabrielle Gipson, founder of the restorative justice organization You Have the Power, will present a training called Abuse Proof Your Kid. The organization works with communities to prevent sexual abuse and heal the harm caused by the abuse. This event will be hosted by Crossroads Church New Elko Market Campus and New Elko Chamber of Commerce. This program is targeted toward parents, childcare workers, teachers and youth workers to give them the tools to prevent sexual abuse in the lives of kids in their care.

Come learn from survivors and those who have caused harm about:

• What sexual abuse is and isn’t
• How to raise a sexually healthy child
• What makes a child an easy target
• What makes a child not tell
• Steps to make a child a harder target
• How to talk to kids about sexual abuse
• Internet Safety

Let’s break the cycle of abuse.  After all hurt people, hurt people and the cycle needs to end.
